Recent Happenings

Hey there! After about a month of being married things are starting to settle and pick up at the same time. Its exciting! These are some of things going on in our lives at the moment:

Last Sunday Michael and I joined Crossroads Baptist Church which we had been visiting. We found a newlwed class to attend and have been greatly enjoying it as well as getting to know the other couples in the class. We look forward to building strong bonds with them. Its neat getting to make friends as a couple. Until now we have not really been able to do that and its truly a blessing.

Michael has been hard at work the last few weeks and I have been getting trained as a military wife. The first week of work he was on swing shift which is from 3 pm to anywhere from 1 to 3 am. We were eating dinner in the early morning hours. But thankfully that was only a week and he switched to day shift. This Thursday he leaves for 3 weeks on temporary duty (TDY) in Arizona. Neither of us are excited about it but we will make it through.

This Friday I have an orientation for my student teaching. Student teaching starts the following Monday and I am excited! I have been assigned to a school here in Valdosta but I do not know what grades I am going to be with. From our Sunday school class (which consists of many teachers) I have heard the school I will be at is a great school and the principal is a great guy and very encouraging. Such positive things!! I am a little nervous about student teaching but looking forward to working with children again.

We found out the military will not ship my things, not cool, but my parents are working out details for my dad to make a trip here to bring my car and other things of mine. Both of my grandfathers have been in and out of hospitals this week. One with surgery and one found out he has eye cancer so if you could keep my family in mind.

I think thats all for now. Hope you have a blessed day!!
